K. Daniel Dawsey is the anointed pastor of the Central Union Baptist Church of Fort Valley, Georgia. He has been preaching the Gospel for nearly 31years and has been Pastor of Central Union since 2001. Prior to his arrival at the Union he was Pastor of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Valdosta for twelve years. He retired from Civil Service after a career in local, state and federal government spanning 32 years.

Pastor Dawsey is a powerful preacher of the Gospel and a dynamic teacher. Those who know him report that his ability to teach and preach with clarity and purpose is what sets his ministry apart. He has been the recipient of many awards through the years, having always been community minded and having served on several community based committees and Boards of Directors.

Since arriving at Central Union the church has experienced significant growth. Under Pastor Dawsey’s spiritual guidance God has taken a 138 year old very traditional church and transformed her into a vibrant growing church with the ability to meet the needs of this present age without compromising the rich and effective history she has built in the community and throughout the state.

Pastor Dawsey holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Fort Valley State College (University), studied Finance and Banking at the University of Florida graduate school and received his Certified Community Development credentials from the University of Georgia, Vinson School of Business. He also earned Master of Ministry and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Bethany Theological Seminary.

Pastor Dawsey and his wife Elaine have four children and eight grandchildren. His favorite scripture is to “Study to show thou self-approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. (2 Timothy 2:15).
